RiverDip is part of the Sullied Sediments project, led by the University of Hull.

Sullied Sediments is developing and testing new tools to better assess, treat and prevent contamination from certain pollutants that can be found in the sediments in our waterways.

The aim is to help regulators and water managers make better decisions regarding the management, removal and disposal of sediments, thereby reducing costs to private and public sector organisations, and the impact of these pollutants on the environment. We are also striving to reduce the levels of chemicals entering the water system by raising awareness about what we, as consumers, are releasing into the environment through the use of common drugs and household products.

‘Sullied Sediments’ has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg VB North Sea Region Programme and is being delivered by partners based in UK, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
